Experience Ancient Temples and Traditional Culture at Uluwatu
The cliff top setting of Uluwatu temple is truly remarkable; an ancient temple perched high on the cliffs, waves crash far below. There has been a temple here for centuries, where locals make offerings to protect the island from any evil spirits who may try to approach from the sea. Whilst there, make sure to also protect your own belongings from the troop of grey monkeys who live in the temple grounds – they may be cute but they also like to grab any sunglasses and hats you may be wearing, so don’t get too friendly with these locals! Whilst at Uluwatu, experience the wonder of the traditional Cecak Dance. This fire dance, performed by an all male cast combines dance with singing and body percussion for a truly mesmerising spectacle. Position yourself in the auditorium so that you can watch the dance with the sun setting behind the temple for an evening you won’t forget.
Horse Riding at Tamblingan Lake
The sublime Tamblingan lake is situated in Bulengeng Regency. Expert guides and well trained horses mean that this is the perfect romantic trip for honeymooners, if you’re experienced riders or have never been on a horse before. Ride through unspoilt natural beauty and discover rainforest, local villages and views of the lake and surrounding countryside. As you ride, you’ll encounter exotic birds and wildlife and will be discovering a completely different side of Bali in this highland region.
Indulge in Relaxing and Rejuvenating Spa Treatments
Spas are found in all of our Bali honeymoon resorts, and complimentary treatments are included in our Bali honeymoon packages. However, the island boasts some of truly outstanding day spas also, so why not spend some time at the Bulgari Spa, where the breezy cliff top location will impress you just as much as the treatments. Experience locally crafted specials at the Maya Ubud, or experience the relaxing wonders of a four-handed massage at Jari Menari, who are located in Seminyak and Nusa Dua.
Boutique Shopping
Start your new life together with a new wardrobe. Bali is famed for the quality, and quantity of designer boutique shops. Build a bespoke wardrobe of unique pieces that will keep you looking stylish from breakfast right through until cocktail hour on those balmy tropical nights. The village of Celuk, near Ubud, is the centre of silver production and jewellery design. A unique piece, bought together is the perfect tribute to your honeymoon. Fine, intricate wood carvings and artworks can also be found, and represent true craftsmanship.
Get Wet and Wild
If you finally get tired of relaxing in luxury under the tropical sun and are feeling adventurous, why not get wet and wild together? Bali is a watersports enthusiast’s heaven. Take a surf lesson together at any of the numerous surf beaches around the island – if it’s your first time the beach breaks of Seminyak and Canggu present the perfect option. The warm waters, coral reefs and rich marine life attracts scuba divers to Bali from around the world, so why not explore a new aquatic world together. Of course, if you don’t like the idea of being underwater, snorkelling is a great way to experience the wonders of the sea. If you want to get the adrenaline flowing, a visit to the Bali Wakeboarding Park is a great way to spend the day.
Tour Villages and Rice Paddies
While our honeymoon packages to Bali focus on making sure that you stay in the upmost luxury with the best possible service, one of the reasons we love Bali so much is the warmth and hospitality of the local people, who continue a traditional culture largely unchanged for hundreds of years. The tranquilly of rural Bali where the lush greens of rice paddies merge into those of forests and jungle has a calming and inspiring impact, encouraging one to relax and reflect. There are numerous ways to experience this side of Bali – gentle cycle rides, tours in classic cars, or if you’re more adventurous motorbike and quad bike tours will take you deep into the countryside.
Sensational Sunrises from a Volcano Summit
It takes a bit of effort to get there, but watching a sunrise from the summit of one of Bali’s volcanoes is a beautiful and romantic experience to share with your loved one. Mount Agung is both Bali’s highest and most sacred mountain. After a night-time trek, you’ll be rewarded with views across Bali, to the neighbouring island of Lombok. Any aches in your muscles will soon vanish, but the memory of this special moment together is sure to last a lifetime.
